So the student…..part deux

Headed off to Calgary to spend a few days last week with Leesa.  Tracy had to work  😦  and Stephen is still working up in Edmonton.  Leesa had to move fairly fast from Edmonton to take up her new promotion as Branch Manager in Calgary in January.  TD Canada Trust found her a furnished condo while they worked on finding a position for Stephen in Calgary.

It didn’t take long as Stephen applied for and got a Branch Manager position about 10 minutes drive from Leesa’s branch.  He starts this week so he’s on the move fast as well.  Unfortunately or fortunately Lucy their Lab needs a bit more room so they will be moving to a townhouse near Leesa’s branch in S.W. Calgary next week and out of the condo.

So what a great chance to spend a few evenings hanging out, drinking wine, snacking with Leesa working at home.   Just reconnecting.  Got a chance to shop a bit on Sunday before I caught my flight back home.

Stephen was able to join us on Saturday but had to head back on Monday morning to finish his two last days in Edmonton just to have to drive back Tuesday night to start his new job Wednesday…..no rest for the wicked.

Stephen and Leesa

What a cute trio…

Had a chance to visit with sister Marilyn and have supper together.

Cousin Simone had some foot surgery so she couldn’t get away from me so we had a great visit.  Of course got to see a bit of the City on my own cruising in Leesa’s car while she worked and didn’t miss a chance to check out Calgary North Harley.  Of course got a bit lost as this place has certainly grown with the economy but GPS saved the day!

I,m still taller….

As a proud parent of course it struck, picking up Leesa late one night from work.  Sitting across the desk from Leesa as she typed and mumbled about things under her breath, in the empty branch except for the manager working free overtime (sound familiar in our past work lives?)

I recalled years past when Leesa would sit across the desk from me, at my office or detachment, while I worked free overtime and mumbled under my breath.  Waiting patiently to go for supper or to gymnastics or shopping or whatever.

I guess Grasshopper, the student, has become the master……cheers!
