Reconnecting and coincidence(s)…..

We hope you have had the chance to read the updated post before this one…..if not it may help explain some things before you read this post….click on this link to go to the earlier post….

We spoke about checking out a few rentals and the ups and downs of finding the right place.  Well over this time we have also spent a few hours reconnecting with friends and family.  Family wise there are Barry in Cobble Hill, Delphine in Nanaimo, Dale in Lake Cowichan and Trudy in Victoria.

Shelby and Xander hanging out with Tracy

As in PEI it is always enjoyable to meet and catch-up on the latest.  Mostly that they can’t understand why we are traveling so much.  Nomads is the term we have been given…that’s okay, we are.

Then there is reconnecting with friends like Dave and Jo-Anne who we have known – well – forever.  They are living  on the island up north and have their dog-agility business running full steam.  We were lucky enough to watch them compete in the Canadian Regional trials in Nanaimo in June.  The dogs were great (you too Dave and Jo).  They have now qualified for the Nationals which, coincidentally, will also be held in Nanaimo in August for the first time ever.

Can we take the bunny home??

Jack and Cate of course had a chance to visit the next week with Dave and Jo-Anne’s 4 dogs here in Cedar on the property.  Cate is still reeling from all the hub-bub and Jack, still catching up on the sniffs.

Bella, McTaggart, Jonesy and Tarryn

Having met several realtors and rental owners we were almost on overload – and then!  We  have a new place ….well.

You see we found out that our new soon to be landlord’s live in the house that mom and dad owned (and we grew up in) on Kennedy Street in Nanaimo.  They have been the owners for the past 20 or so years and have completely renovated the house.   Of all the people we have or could have met – this almost lines up on the spooky side – donchathink?!?

One more thing.  Remember the lobster boat trip we took with Leesa and Stephen in Tignish in May.  Well we gave our name and phone number to them should they ever come out this way to give us a call.

Where do you want us to put these?!?

Yep – you guessed it.  Had coffee last week with them at Timmy’s in Chase River south of Nanaimo.  They’re planning to do some business out west,  on this island and so we will see them again in the fall……

We have more family and friends to catch up with.  Two more moves to make before we move into our new digs…..but no complaints, okay maybe some minor stuff but yes, we are still enjoying this journey…..

Thanks for stopping  by once again.

  1. It’s like you’ve come full circle. The synchronicity of the house on Kennedy Street is incredible. Call me sometime, I’ve lost your cell number again.
