We’ve been asked….

on quite a few occasions now if there were any things that we didn’t like about PEI or living on the east coast.

We put our collective heads together and came up with a couple of concerns we’ve had…but not disappointments really.

  • Family doctors are very selective on who they take on and apparently in short supply unless you know someone who knows someone and currently we don’t ….So in order to get a prescription refill it can take about 2-3 hours waiting at a walk-in clinic which are quite regularly available
  • you would think with a population the same size of the greater Moncton, N.B. area there would be enough to go around but we are – now get this – on a list since September of over 6800 people waiting for a family doctor.

Don’t get us wrong we don’t think we are that special but that is one of our concerns.

We have been learning a lot about supply and demand in the housing/building business here.  If you want it you can get it but usually the supply demands a bigger price, bit of a surprise for us but not uncommon in limited markets.  This result has given us lots of negotiation time with builders but no results yet.

With the housing market on a slump across Canada we have very stringent requirements and guidelines…. we have been told something that we thought we’d never hear here…..

…. we don’t do it that way here, no one that we know of does?  Go figure…….
